What to Expect After a Facelift
With advances in facelift techniques, recovery is now quicker and more manageable compared with other, older facelift techniques. While experiences vary, our patients are usually able to return to work within about 3 weeks of their procedure. While swelling and bruising is to be expected, our advanced facelifting techniques allow for less swelling and discomfort than other face lifting methods.
To begin your facelift procedure, we will create short, minimal incisions in front of and around the ear, blending with the hairline. We use sutures to restore skin tightness of the neck, and to correct the fullness of the angle between the jaw and the neck. Then, we will remove any excess skin or tissue of that area in order to provide a smooth and contoured appearance. Once we are finished, we will close your incisions.

The MACS Lift
Every facelift we perform is tailored to fit the precise needs of the patient. To that end, we offer a minimal approach for certain patients who have less extensive signs of aging. Called the MACS lift, for minimal access cranial suspension lift, this procedure involves shorter incisions than the traditional facelift for lasting facial rejuvenation.
In a MACS lift, we make short incisions in front of the ear to tighten the skin of the lower two-thirds of the face. This surgical method requires less access to the underlying muscle structures of the face, so it is often easier to combine with other facial procedures such as eyelid and brow surgery or non-surgical treatments such as injectable fillers.
This minimal method often makes for a shorter recovery time, but it is not appropriate for everyone. Our team will determine the best route for you during your consultation.
