Bags or dark circles under the eyes can cause us to look exhausted or older than we are. We provide blepharoplasty in Salt Lake City to address these concerns and achieve a renewed appearance.
Blepharoplasty can enhance the field of vision by removing excess skin and tissue that may obstruct sightlines. With improved eyelid positioning and reduced drooping, individuals experience clearer peripheral vision and a broader range of sight, enhancing their overall visual experience and quality of life.
Reduced eye bags contribute to a more youthful and rested appearance, diminishing the signs of fatigue and stress. Smooth, taut skin around the eyes creates an air of vitality and confidence, enhancing overall facial harmony and vibrancy.
Refreshed looking eyes convey a sense of vitality and rejuvenation, their sparkle reflecting inner energy and well-being. Clear, bright eyes invite connection, radiating a renewed sense of focus and alertness, embodying a vibrant outlook on life.

Candidates for blepharoplasty in Salt Lake City at 22 Plastic Surgery would like to tighten sagging eyelid skin and achieve a more youthful appearance around their eyes. Ideal candidates meet the following general requirements:
Blepharoplasty is typically performed using local anesthesia but can be done under general anesthesia if you prefer. The procedure begins with a small incision made in the crease of the upper and/or lower eyelid.
During upper eyelid surgery, the extra skin is removed and the skin is tightened over the eyelids to provide a naturally-youthful appearance. During lower eyelid surgery, the incision is made within the inside or on the outside of the lower lid, and the ligaments of the lower lid are tightened to achieve a better muscle structure. Fat tissue is repositioned and the skin is resettled to remove bags or puffiness and create a smooth, full, contour between the eye and the cheekbone.
Once the procedure is complete, the eyelid incisions are closed with absorbable sutures or biological glues. Your blepharoplasty will take one or two hours.
Expect swelling and bruising around your eyes during your recovery period, which should fade in approximately two weeks. Most patients feel able to return to work after about one week, but the amount of downtime required to adequately rest and recuperate varies from patient to patient.
Do not wear contacts until ten days have passed, and sleep on your back to keep any pressure off of your eyes for 1-2 weeks. You may resume strenuous exercise again after 3-4 weeks.
Your results will be apparent in 1-2 weeks, once the swelling fully subsides. You can expect a rejuvenated, natural-looking, more youthful appearance. The eyelids and area around the eyes will be tighter and smoother, and there will be fewer wrinkles or other signs of age. Upper blepharoplasty results will last between five and seven years, while lower blepharoplasty results are essentially permanent, often lasting for more than 20 years.
